There are few artists in contemporary music as mysterious as Frank Ocean. His songs and albums are released seemingly on a whim, sometimes weeks or years apart. In 2016, Ocean released two surprise albums—his first full records in four years. Then, last year, he released a handful of unannounced singles, including “Provider,” “Biking,” and “Chanel.”Read more

XXLMAG- Vic Mensa is having one hell of a year. The 2014 XXL Freshman recently gave away a four-song EP entitled The Manuscript in preparation for his official debut album The Autobiography, scheduled for an official release on July 28. While promoting the album across the country, Vic recently stopped by Big Boy’s Neighborhood to speak on the drop, and during the conversation he said JAY-Z advised him to take a certain diss line off the LP.

Waka Flocka has a history of sending subliminal speeches to rappers he doesn’t think are living right.
In his latest, he targets someone who fancies himself a philosopher, and who’s all about Black Lives Matter, but who doesn’t really help the community.Read more
After five years since his latest full-length project, Brother Ali has released his All the Beauty in This Whole Life album.
The project is made up of 15 tracks and includes features from deM atlaS, Amir Sulaiman, Sa-Roc and Idris Philips. The lead single for All the Beauty in This Whole Life is “Own Light (What Hearts Are For).”
Speaking with Billboard, the career Rhymesayers MC explained his vision for the album, and how he’s addressing politics in a different way than on 2012’s Mourning in America and Dreaming in Color.
“Now, more people are turning to politics and paying attention to what the administration is doing,” he shared. “So many helpful things are being said about that, but my new album is about looking inward. I’m happy that this is what I’m offering the world in this moment … It’s not like there’s less of a focus on outward justice, but the reality is that the first and most important battlefield for fighting for justice is our heart.”

Kendrick Lamar has dropped two singles in past last week. On one of them he suggested he had an album coming April 7th.
Last night, K.Dot’s TDE bro ScHoolboy Q took to Snapchat and confirmed that there is an album. And that Q has heard it.
So far we’ve heard the tracks ‘No Heart Part 4’ and ‘Humble.’
Have they made you more or less hype for the still unnamed project?
HHE-It’s been a pretty quiet year for Chief Keef.
But he’s ringing in 2017 with a bang (no pun intended), dropping the mixtape Two Zero One Seven New Year’s Day.
After that, there’s a good chance he’s going to revisit his Big Gucci Sosa Gucci Mane collab.
“We’ve talked a few times since he got out but we both busy as hell,” Sosa told Local Savages. “Niggas always hitting me up on Twitter about Big Gucci Sosa 2 so we gonna have to get together and do that. I made a whole ‘nother tape with my beats and him while he was gone but we ended up trashing that shit. I like his new songs, they hard as hell.”
As for those beats, you may be hearing some of them on Two Zero One Seven, which will feature a lot of his own production.
“I been practicing making beats for two years now and if I’m gonna spend all that time I want niggas to hear it,” he explained. “My beats hard as hell now, expect that. I got Tadoe on there, Kash, uh…I think that’s it. Leekeleek got a beat on there too but I think the rest is all me. Hard ass shit. Bars and shit. You gonna be hearing it out of every car.”
Iggy Azalea’s 2016 musical output has been next to nothing outside of her quiet “Team” single
slowout rollout, with her biggest storyline being her mildly scandalous breakup with Los Angeles Lakers guard Nick “Swaggy P” Young.
Those setbacks didn’t prevent GQ Australia from saluting their prodigal daughter with their yearly top honor at the GQ Men of the Year Awards 2016. Yesterday at The Ivy in Sydney, Australia, Azalea (born Amethyst Kelly some 26 years ago) accepted the GQ Australia Woman of the Year award in a revealing top and then revealed even more in her acceptance speech.
“This is amazing to me, I’ve got the best vagina in the world. How do you say no to that … you don’t,” she joked to the audience. “I didn’t know everybody was going to have such hilarious speeches and I didn’t prepare anything foolishly. Thank you GQ for this award. I have won a lot of awards over the last few years but this one means the absolute most to me because I can finally say I have an award-winning vagina.”
