$490 Million Worth of EDM Troubles

SFX Entertainment, Inc. is the largest global producer of live events and digital entertainment content focused exclusively on electronic music culture (EMC) and other world-class festivals. Robert F.X. Sillerman is the CEO. Sillerman founded SFX Entertainment June 2012, investing $1 billion in EDM, later buying companies like beatport, ID&T and Disco Donnie Presents.

The year of 2013, Sillerman was able to raise $260 million in stock offering, which gave him currency to buy EDM festivals in the United States, Europe and Latin America. Those included TomorrowLand, Mysteryland, Life In Color, Electric Zoo and Sensation.

The problem was SFX did not deliver the profits that it promised investors, causing investors to lose trust in the company, which later caused the company to begin selling shares; showing the company was running into financial issues.

Monday, February 1, 2016 SFX Entertainment Inc. filed a chapter 11 bankruptcy protection agreement to repair the company's outstanding debt. Although the this bankruptcy will eradicate $300 million off the companies total balance, SFX is still in at least $490 million worth of debt.

Black History in hip hop -Memories of Eazy-E

March 26th 1995 is the day we lost Eric (Eazy-E) Wright.  R.I.P Eazy-E
Below is a documentary with memories of Eazy-E by ruthlessmemories.com

Rapper Eazy-E was born Eric Wright on September 7, 1963, in Compton, California, a city in Los Angeles County. He dropped out of high school and worked as a drug dealer for a time, using his income to co-found a label, Ruthless Records, with music industry insider Jerry Heller. He teamed up with two other youngsters from the region, O'Shea "Ice Cube" Jackson and Andre "Dr. Dre" Young, who started crafting songs for Wright's label.

After another Ruthless group opted not to record a song by Jackson and Young, Wright joined with the two men to record "Boyz-n-the-Hood" as Niggaz With Attitude, also known as N.W.A.

N.W.A. broke up in the early '90s, with Eazy and Dr. Dre embroiled in litigious disputes that also saw the two attacking and lampooning each other in their respective work. Eazy, a consummate businessman who commented on how rap controversy could be used to spur album sales, continued running Ruthless Records, discovering acts like Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. In 1992, he released his own solo EP, 5150 Home 4 tha Sick; another EP was released the following year.

Eazy incited controversies of a different sort by attending a 1991 Republican fund-raiser that featured President George H.W. Bush (the rapper was invited after his name was reportedly pulled from a list associated with charitable donations) and after speaking up for one of the officers involved in the beating of Rodney King. By 1994, he'd also become the host of a Los Angeles radio music show on KKBT-FM.

In 1995, after Eazy was hospitalized for severe respiratory issues, it was learned that the rapper had contracted AIDS. He soon revealed his condition to the public and, weeks after his diagnosis, would die from complications related to the disease on March 26, 1995, at age 31.

An album that Eazy had been working on was released posthumously in 1995, and an EP of unreleased tracks was put forth on the seven-year anniversary of his death. One of his children, singer E.B. Wright, is producing A Ruthless Scandal, a documentary about the final days of her father's life. His story is also depicted in Straight Outta Compton, the 2015 biopic about N.W.A. directed by F. Gary Gray.

Future's New Album "EVOL" Has Arrived

Following up "Purple Reign," Future drops off his new album "EVOL."

The man just doesn't stop working. Fresh off the release of his Purple Reignproject, Future continues his rap dominance by sharing yet another new album for us tonight called EVOL.

Premiered moments ago on the first episode of DJ Khaled’s new Beats1 Radio show on Apple, the follow up to Purple Reign comes with 11 records in total and a lone feature from The Weeknd, who appears on the previously heard single "Low Life." No word yet as for who’s responsible for all the production/credits, but it’s safe to say that Metro Boomin, Ben Billions, Southside, Zaytoven, and some other ATL hitmakers had their hands involved.

For those keeping count, EVOL serves as the sixth project from Future in the past year, following up Beast Mode, 56 Nights, DS2, What A Time to Be Alive, & most recently Purple Reign. And if you remember, producer Southside revealed back in November that Future had nine projects ready to go at that moment, ultimately meaning that we should still have a couple more projects on the way if our math is correct. via: hotnewhiphop

Wiz Khalifa drowns himself in money, power and weed in 'Khalifa'

"Khalifa" by Wiz Khalifa

Last year, when Pittsburgh Taylor Gang rapper Wiz Khalifa announced he was hard at work on his next album Rolling Papers 2, the future looked bright and exciting for him and fans. Then at the beginning of 2016 the "See You Again" rhymer announced a different album, Khalifa, and soon after started a short-lived beef with Kanye West over the unconfident, disagreeable name change of the latter's forthcoming LP, and people started to question Wiz's motivations and behind the scenes efforts (not to mention Kanye's too). Released February 5th by the very corporate Atlantic Records (Warner Music Group), Khalifa is not the highly anticipated, heavily exalted sequel to Rollings Papers (2011), but a mix of easygoing rockstar raps over slow hazy show-beats full of under-ambitious good times and wimpy Wiz rhymes.

Wiz is just absolutely obsessed with loads of cash and spending it on garbage for the first four songs, diamonds and partying in "BTS" (should be called "BS"), weak dreams of getting rich in "Elevated," and US financial system whoring in "City View." The vague, uninspiring, completely uncontroversial platitudes in "Elevated" then mean nothing whatsoever. It's downright depressing that this is what is being fed to the populace as art and an utter shame to hip-hop in what should be way more progressive times. Though typical, "Cowboy" and "Call Waiting" can be singled out as breaks from the album's main topics, as they cover Wiz's dope-slinging ghetto past and some sing-y lovey mush in the second song. "Most of Us" is almost entirely useless as Wiz raps about random pointless bullsh*t from a high celebrity's perspective.

The only good cuts in the meat of the project would be "Make A Play" and "Zoney" because in the first, Wiz raps about caring for his son and in the second he hits on the topic of ambition, something he has in modest supply (what he means to say he has is the propensity to fall to his knees for Atlantic). The rest of the songs here are mainly devoted to the clueless rap-caliph's favorite plant (no, not khat, marijuana) and a staged show of stupid grandiose big-sh*t and flimsy persuasions into the realm of childish ignorance.

GAME SUED BY "Thirsty Gatorade Mascot of a Transvestite"

According to TMZ.com Priscilla Rainey  won the $10M sexual assault lawsuit against The Game, which she claimed Game crossed the line during his TV reality show, "She's Got Game." Game never responded to her complaint, so the judge entered a $10 mil default.

The Game went bonkers on instagram saying, "that thirsty Gatorade mascot of a transvestite WILL NEVER see $10,000,000 or anything close to a penny of my money. People think because they read a headline in BOLD PRINT it's true. She won a judgement of 10 million $'s & that means that a judge because I'm overseas has given this chicken a chance 2 MAYBE be able to afford a lifetime of lace front hair glue if my lawyers don't respond to this suit by the 26th of this month..."

He also sneers, " She has a history of theft, fraud, prostitution arrests & a lot of other 'Tranny Panty' activity in her past that makes this false claim irrelevant...She got kicked off the show & as a result she filed this lame lawsuit which were probably her intentions before the show was ever even started."

Game denies ever touching or even wanting to be around her.

Rainey responded on Instagram with these images :

Black History Music Education 101 From Sir Mix Alot

Sir Mix-a-Lot is back in the public eye, largely due to his classic "Baby Got Back" being sampled for Nicki Minaj's smash hit "Anaconda." Don't get it twisted though, as the Grammy award winner has a die-hard fan base that's supported him from day one. He also owns his own publishing, so whether or not you see him on your TV screens every day, he's getting paid handsomely for his contributions to the rap game.

The Hip-Hop staple "Baby Got Back" was inspired by his then girlfriend who was built beautiful and curvy, unlike the image of "beautiful" women portrayed in women's magazines and commercials at the time. Together they decided to make a song dedicated to thicker girls who didn't fit the norm, and the classic track was born.

Temptress Tinashe on the Cover of Complex

Moisture alert.

Tinashe graces the February/March 2016 cover of Complex in what could be her sexiest shoot yet. “This is definitely a racy photo shoot,” the “Player” singer told the magazine. “This is probably one of my racier ones. The only other one that could rival this shoot is my Playboy shoot but I think this one’s actually hotter.”

Tinashe, who’s readying her sophomore album Joyride, whets appetites with the eye-popping pics—she sips from a crazy straw (while showing underboob), drifts in a punch bowl, and climbs out of a glass of ice water.

“With this cover in particular, as opposed to others that I’ve done in the past, I definitely had a little bit more fun, which was cool,” she said. “We got to shoot some stuff that was really colorful and lighthearted. I had a little bit more creative control than I normally have so I had a really, really great time on this shoot.”

Australian Open 2016: Serena beats Sharapova - Djokovic & Federer through

Serena Williams beat Maria Sharapova for the 18th time in a row to reach the Australian Open semi-finals.

The defending champion, seeded number one and chasing a 22nd Grand Slam title, saw off fifth seed Sharapova 6-4 6-1 at Melbourne Park.

The world number one, who has not lost to Sharapova in 12 years, now faces fourth seed Agnieszka Radwanska.

Sharapova made it a real contest for almost an hour but eventually buckled under the American's power.

Williams, 34, appeared to struggle with her ball toss in the morning sunshine on Rod Laver Arena as she fell 2-0 down.

The intensity ratcheted up as the set progressed, with both players repeatedly yelling "Come on!" as they tried to grab the initiative.

Sharapova, 28, held on valiantly in an eight-minute game to claw her way back to 4-4, but the pressure told in game 10 and Williams clinched the set at the fourth opportunity with a volley.

The world number one called for the doctor at the changeover but powered on stronger than ever in the second set, making it 12 games out of 15 as she sealed victory after one hour and 32 minutes.

"It was super intense," said Williams. "She's an incredibly intense and focused player who was world number one.

"When you're playing someone so great you have to come out with a lot of fire and intensity."

Sharapova was equally effusive about Williams. "She's at a different level. She makes you work. That's inspiring."

Radwanska earlier beat Spanish 10th seed Carla Suarez Navarro 6-1 6-3 to reach her second Melbourne semi-final in three years.
